Chess teaches us to think, visualize, problem solve, strategize and take risks. Play the game that spans cultures and generations. By learning chess, one of the oldest and most fascinating of games, you can make a friend and learn a little sportsmanship.
The Library will be closed on Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth. None of our items are due back on this day. We will reopen at 10am on Saturday the 20th.
Summer Reading Kickoff Party!
Thursday, June 25 4:30—6:00 PM

Kids, teens, and their families are invited to join us for our SUMMER READING KICKOFF PARTY!

Join us as Mr. Magico kicks off summer with a hilarious comedy magic show for the whole family! Before and after the show kids and teens can sign up for our Summer Reading programs, get some cool dinosaur temporary tattoos, and enjoy some dino themed snacks!

No need to sign up to attend - just come by the Library between 4:30pm and 6pm on Thursday, June 25th!
Save time - Don't Stress. To alleviate the craziness of in-person signups at our Summer Kickoff Party, registration for all July events and summer-long classes will open online at 12pm on Friday, June 26th. You'll need to know your library card number to register for most events, so be sure to have it handy. If you have lost or misplaced your card, stop by the Library before the 26th to get a free replacement.
Unearth a Story Summer Art Show!

We are asking Kids & Teens to make a poster showing their interpretation of our Summer Reading theme: Unearth A Story! Posters should feature our theme's elements: dinosaurs, prehistoric times, archeology, discovery, and adventures into our past!

All submissions will be displayed in our gallery throughout July and August. We will also host a very special Artist Reception for all participants on Friday, July 17th at 6pm.

For full rules, please contact the Library.
