About the Library:

The Pleasant Valley Free Library is a free association library operating under the laws of the State of New York governing Free Libraries. The chief objective of the Library is to provide the people of Pleasant Valley with an effective, friendly, and responsive Free Library service of high quality, capable of evolving and expanding with the needs of the community.

Computer Use – Six public computers, one 15-Minute Express computer for checking email/stocks/printing/etc
Printing – black and white ONLY, $.20 per page after two free pages per day
– $1 per page sending and receiving, limit 15 pages sent per day, continental US numbers only
Photocopies – self-service, black and white ONLY, $.25 per page
Notary – free, by appointment (please call ahead of time to schedule, do NOT pre-sign your documents)
Exam Proctoring – $20 for non-residents, by appointment only (email PVFlibrary@gmail.com to schedule)
Tech Help – free, by appointment (call 845-635-8460 or stop by to schedule)
HotSpot Loans – check out a mobile HotSpot for WiFi on the go; give us a call or stop in for more info and to reserve yours
Home Delivery Service – volunteers will deliver library items to homebound patrons on a monthly basis; please call or stop in for more information

The library regularly offers the following programs and services, though many of our in-person programs are currently on pause (please see our Calendar page for more information about current programs):

  • Evening Book Group at 7pm on the third Wednesday of every month
  • Storytimes for Children on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
  • Children’s Lego Program the first Saturday of every month
  • Seasonal Children’s Craft Programs during long school breaks
  • Family Movie Night one Friday a month
  • Adult (13+) craft program one Saturday a month
  • Therapy Reading Dog 3:30pm to 5:00pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month
  • Meditation Group at 6:30pm the last Tuesday, and 1pm on the second Thursday of the month
  • Dungeons and Dragons meet-up on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at 6pm
  • Chess Club on the 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings each month at 5pm
  • Chair Yoga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga twice a month
  • Fandom Friday programs once a month
  • Adult movie screenings once a month
  • Health Insurance signup the last Wednesday of the month
  • Technology help  (downloading ebooks, opening email, etc) by appointment
  • Delivery location for Field Goods local produce

We also offer a number of Museum Passes!

The Pleasant Valley Free Library is governed by a Board of Trustees made up of up to 13 members. They meet on the third Thursday of every month. Our trustees are:
