About the Library:

The Pleasant Valley Free Library is a free association library operating under the laws of the State of New York governing Free Libraries. The chief objective of the Library is to provide the people of Pleasant Valley with an effective, friendly, and responsive Free Library service of high quality, capable of evolving and expanding with the needs of the community.

In addition to the library’s collection of books and CDs and DVDs, the library offers computer, fax, and photocopier services.

The library also offers basic free notary service. Please do not sign your documents in advance and be prepared to present your driver’s license. General notary hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 10-5, and Thursdays 5-8pm. However, these hours are subject to change so please call in advance that morning to ensure an appointment.

The library offers six computers with free access to both the internet and word processing. Printing costs $0.20 per page. A library card from the Mid-Hudson Library System is necessary to use the computers.
The library can both send and receive faxes at a cost of $1 per page. A photocopier (self-service) is also available for $0.15 a page. Please note that no color copies or double-sided copies are possible.
Individuals without a library card can sign up for a library card good at any library in the Mid-Hudson Library System.

Books, Books on CD, Music CDs and SOME tv series may be checked out for 3 weeks and renewed for another 3 if there are no holds on them.
DVDs and the weekly Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum Pass are available for adults and children and these may be checked out for 1 week at a time. The daily Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum pass is available on a first come- first serve basis, cannot be reserved in advance, and must be returned before closing on the day it is checked out.
